Snappy or Sloppy: How Should Men Be Dressing This Season?

Tough Decisions

Whether they admit to it or not, men are continually wrestling with their image, and how they are going to make themselves look better. Men's fashion is generally split between two key style ideals, namely the relaxed, casual look, and something altogether smarter. The male geniuses of the world when it comes to dressing well are often able to put the two together and come up with some amazing looks, however there are those who religiously stick to one or the other. We took a look at each look and came up with a definitive conclusion to which one is best.

Looking Smart

The smart look tends to be followed by men who need to look that way for work. Of course, what we mean is that they take it further and go for a smart look all of the time. There are various reasons for this. Firstly, if a man knows he look great when he goes to work, then it is only natural that he would want to replicate that during his personal time. That is not to say someone who works in a professional organisation would then always wear a suit at the weekend! They can however, make style choices that maintains a smart look, such as fitted polo shirts from the likes of Lacoste and Fred Perry, and wear darker denims with shoes.
Keeping skin smooth and stubble free, as well as neat and tidy hair are also cornerstones of the smart look.

More Rugged

If you are fortunate enough to work somewhere where your appearance is not likely to have a major impact on your job, then you can afford to look more relaxed. The key to any relaxed look, as you should already know and have probably practiced, is to have it be deliberate. If you look like a sack of spanners because you were late out of bed, then shame on you. However, if you have taken the time to craft your look and know exactly what you are doing with those ripped vintage jeans and rag-looking jumper, then fashion fame awaits you.

The Best Look?

A more relaxed style is definitely the way to go, as you will feel so much more liberated and at ease with yourself and what you are wearing. If relaxed is your thing then you can always incorporate smarter elements into your look and put a unique twist on it, while a clean cut look often takes away any creative licence or the opportunity to be imaginative in your fashion choices.
