With so much information tips and advice about bridal jewelry, where do you start? The fact is that styles change every year and it is really up to the bride to decide if she wants to stay trendy or stay traditional. Either way it goes, you need to be true to yourself in every way. There are three rules of thumb to keep in mind before you start shopping, so be sure to read carefully.
1. Simple is not always the best!
For years it has been said that less is more when it comes to bridal jewelry. However, that is no longer the case. Brides are loving statement jewelry pieces such as large chunky necklaces, layered necklaces, chandelier earrings, and oversized cuff bracelets. However, do be careful when you go for bold jewelry.
Pick one or two statement pieces at most. If everything is over the top it could end up distracting from your dress. Make sure it is bold yet in a tasteful way. For example, chandelier earrings and a cuff bracelet would work nicely, but adding a large necklace to the mix is too much.
2. Pearls never go out of style!
No matter what style bride you are, from traditional to modern and everything in between, you simply cannot go wrong with pearls. Pearls are a classic that will never go out of style. And today, designers are working them into contemporary jewelry designs as well.
Freshwater pearls have really made a splash lately and are super popular for any wedding, especially beach events. Also, a stunning faux or real pearl necklace is the most popular bridal jewelry piece by far. It often becomes a piece or set of jewelry that is passed down from generation to generation.
3. Show your personality!
You are the bride, this is your day to shine and show you unique personality through the jewelry you wear. Never wear something that you are not 100% happy with just to please others. Take you time to figure out your style, and start by looking in magazines and browse online to get an idea of what style jewelry reflects who you are.
For example, if you a princess bride, rhinestones and bling are the way to go. If you are a vintage bride, consider gold jewelry pieces as a wink and a nudge to the past. When you find the perfect bridal jewelry, you will know.
